Reports to: Building Principal and Special Education Director
QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Certification:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree required as appropriate for endorsement.
- Hold or be eligible to hold an Oregon Teaching Certificate.
- Hold appropriate endorsement(s).
Experience:
- Successful completion of student teaching/internship assignment.
- Previous experience in an educational setting desirable.

Instructional Diagnosis and Planning
- Assist in the identification and programming for handicapped students.
- Actively participate in the student review and special services process..
- After due process parental counseling, complete assessments which may result in the identification of a handicap or specialized placement.
- Participate in the development of the Individual Educational Program (IEP).
- Plan instruction consistent with Individual Educational Program (IEP).
- Use approved or modified district curriculum and/or adapted curriculum.
- Use individual strategies and materials.
- Prescribe appropriate annual goals and short-term objectives.
- Translate Individual Educational Program (IEP) goals and objectives into instructional sequences.
- Provide ongoing consultation services.

Instructional Management
